Tips for cleaning windows

Save money on window cleaner and use your newspapers instead. Using a bowl of warm soapy water, I use my dish washing liquid, scrunch up a couple of sheets of newspaper and use them like a cloth. If your windows are particularly dirty, as they can be on the outside of your house, use up to four pages of newspaper. As you would with a dry cloth, take some sheets of clean newspaper and use them like a cloth to dry off the window. You will be amazed at the shine. You can also still recycle your wet newspaper; just throw it in your mixed paper recycle bag.

There are many regular household products that can be used for house cleaning. Our grandmothers didn't have access to the types of cleaning products we have today and they managed to keep their homes perfectly clean. Ask your grandparents what they used to make cleaning products. I am sure they will be thrilled that you are interested and you may also hear some family stories at the same time.
